  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • Shape the cookies. Divide the dough in half to form two large balls. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving plenty of space between them as they will spread during baking. Flatten each ball slightly with your hand.

  • Bake to Perfection Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked. This will ensure they remain soft and chewy in the center. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely (or enjoy warm if you can’t wait!).

Tips for the Best Cookies

  • Butter: Using melted butter gives these cookies a denser, chewier texture.
  • Sugar: A mix of granulated and brown sugar adds depth and richness.
  • Chill Time: If you have the patience, chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking can help enhance the flavors and texture.
  • Storage: These cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

  • 1 Skillet pan
  • 1 Plate
  • 1 Small sauce bowl

Ingredients

For the shrimp tacos

  • 1 lb large shrimp pilled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

For the Best Shrimp Taco Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparing the Shrimp

  • In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the shrimp are well coated with the spices.
  • Heat a large skillet pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

Making the Best Shrimp Taco Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, chopped cilantro, sriracha, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and well combined. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Tacos

  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until they are soft and pliable.
  • Place a generous spoonful of shredded cabbage on each tortilla.
  • Top with 3–4 shrimp, slices of avocado, and a drizzle of the shrimp taco sauce. Garnish with chopped cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Notes

Tips for Success

Freshness is key: Use the freshest shrimp you can find for the best flavor and texture.
Adjust the heat: Feel free to add more sriracha to the sauce if you like it extra spicy, or dial it back if you prefer a milder flavor.
Get creative with toppings: Feel free to add your favorite toppings like diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or even a sprinkle of cheese.
